A Typographic Love Letter to New Friends
Friends began as a tiny typography experiment in InDesign and somehow turned into a love letter to the people I met in Vancouver. What started as a casual “let me play with layouts and types for my Typography class” quickly grew into a little world where each page became its own personality, just like the friends who inspired it.
I wanted to capture that feeling of meeting someone new who unexpectedly brightens your day. The zine mixes playful type and compositions. Each spread carries a mood: it's how I feel about each of my friend.
Design-wise, this zine ended up revealing a big part of my design style, and honestly, my personality too. I played around with all kinds of fonts and layouts, letting myself experiment freely, but somehow the final result still feels grounded and organized. It carries a little bit of joy, a little bit of gratitude, and a celebration of the simple things that make life feel warm.
Friends is simply a celebration of the people who made my time in Vancouver feel like home. It’s a tiny reminder that friendships can appear in unexpected places, and that everyday moments are worth documenting—especially when they come with good stories and good company.
